GTRE Analyst Program
With an esteemed Alumni Board of industry professionals from development to brokerage curating a multidisciplinary program, GTRE provides a student-facilitated, semester-long curriculum comprising Commercial Real Estate fundamentals, technicals, and a catered case study on relevant projects.

Across Design, Business, Computing, Science, Engineering, and Liberal Arts, real estate provides opportunities for students of all disciplines. Through the GTRE Analyst Program, students receive a crash course on the fundamentals of Commercial Real Estate. The semester concludes with a case study presentation to the Alumni Board of Professionals with each student compiling an analysis through the lens of their chosen discipline.
How long is GTRE's Analyst Program?
The program is a 3 month process offered in both the Spring and Fall semesters. In Fall 2024, the Development & Investment Program runs from September 9th through December 2nd.
Am I required to participate in the program to be part of the Georgia Tech Real Estate Club?
No. Students are welcome to attend our bi-weekly industry events to learn about current key projects without participating in the Analyst Program. If you partake in the program, attending industry events will greatly contribute to your case study and professional growth.
What will I learn from this process?
Mentees will learn about the basics of real estate from the design, construction, and financing of a project to valuing an investment in a tangible asset. There are considerable players in real estate, and you will gain an understanding of how they all work together at a fundamental level.
What is the time commitment for the program?
Attending weekly presentations and demonstrations takes 1 hour each week.
What are the disciplines and career paths in real estate?
Of the many fields and disciplines within real estate, there is development, brokerage, capital markets, acquisitions, asset management, private equity, property management, construction, architecture, structural engineering, urban & city planning, and public/private partnerships.
Why specifically a focus on development and investment?
As an inherently engineering institution, Georgia Tech offers curriculum that directly intertwines with and influences the real estate industry. Our institution has been the curator of immense talent that has reshaped the world through real estate development, which entails every discipline within the industry. What are the real estate assets?
The primary real estate asset classes are office, industrial, retail, multifamily, hospitality, and Single Family Residences. Each of these assets comprise significant sub-classes.
What is real estate development?
Real Estate Developers transform their ideas into tangible structures. A developer is multidisciplinary, facilitating and coordinating the entire process across the inception and refinement of an idea, financing a project, overseeing its construction, and managing/selling the completed project. With an understanding of Real Estate Development principles, you will be able to confidently determine your preferred discipline.
